Massage and Bodywork Modalities
Swedish / Deep Tissue Massage
A selective Blend of relaxation techniques such as effleurage (stroking), kneading, vibration, and tapotment (cupping or clapping of hands) applied to the entire body. This creates a connection throughout the body, and ultimately results in a mental relaxation and physical muscle release.
Myofascial Release
MFR is a manipulation of the connective tissue under the skin as well as around the muscle. This process releases the muscle itself by first releasing the fascia allowing the muscle to lengthen and relax. This is a slow integrative process that is very effective as well as intense.
Vedic Thai Massage
This massage uses a combination of Reiki energy and yoga stretching for relaxation and release. Vedic Thai massage brings focus on self-realization and a transcendent awareness.
Reiki
This is the practice of laying hands on the body to comfort or relieve pain. The energy, or life force, of our bodies can become drained for many different reasons. Reiki balances and recharges our energy centers called “chakras.”
Sports/Injury Massage
This modality integrates deep stretching, intense vibration, effleurage (deep stroking), tapotment (cupping or clapping of hands), and kneading. This will prepare the muscles for an upcoming sporting event and or exercise as well as release the muscles after an exercise program or workout.
Athletes with injuries can benefit from this massage due to the fact that it releases the scar tissue and brings new nutrients (via circulation) to the injury site.
Ask about pre/post sporting even massage.
Cranial-Sacral Therapy
Cranial-sacral therapy is a holistic healing practice that uses very light touching to balance the cranial-sacral system in the body, which includes the bones, nerves, fluids, and connective tissues of the cranium and spinal area.
Touch for Health
Applied kinesiology techniques that balance the body's energy through a system of muscle testing and various massage techniques.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a therapeutic method of relieving pain by stimulating predefined pressure points on the feet and hands. This controlled pressure alleviates the source of the discomfort.
In the absence of any particular malady or abnormality, reflexology may be as effective for promoting good health and for preventing illness as it may be for relieving symptoms of stress, injury, and illness.
Structural Integration Therapy
This is special ten sessions of Myofascial Release and postural analysis applied in a specific order to "Reset" the entire muscular structure Basic Ten to restructure connective tissue by slowly working deeper and deeper on the focused area.
